Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab Technician to join our Science Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and organizing laboratory equipment and materials for Chemistry. They will ensure a safe, efficient, and effective laboratory environment that supports the educational objectives of the school/college

  • Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for practical sessions in Chemistry.
  • Set up and dismantle laboratory experiments and demonstrations.
  • Maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is in good working condition and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Manage the inventory of laboratory supplies and order new materials when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and audits of laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and staff on the safe and proper use of laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Develop and update safety procedures and protocols.
  • Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance.
  • Demonstrate the correct use of laboratory equipment and materials to students.
  • Support the development of new laboratory experiments and activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and improve laboratory practicals and demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including inventory, safety checks, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist with the preparation of laboratory-related documents, such as risk assessments and procedural guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
Job Specification

Working Conditions : This is a full time position  with morning shift from 6:30 am - 1:00 pm and day shift from 10:30 am - 5pm working hours. This position may require occasional evening or weekend work during peak periods or special events.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Chemistry).
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in an educational environment.
