Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab Technician to join our Science Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and organizing laboratory equipment and materials for Physics labs. They will ensure a safe, efficient, and effective laboratory environment that supports the educational objectives of the school/college

  • Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for practical sessions in Physics.
  • Set up and dismantle laboratory experiments and demonstrations.
  • Maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is in good working condition and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Manage the inventory of laboratory supplies and order new materials when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and audits of laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and staff on the safe and proper use of laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Develop and update safety procedures and protocols.
  • Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance.
  • Demonstrate the correct use of laboratory equipment and materials to students.
  • Support the development of new laboratory experiments and activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and improve laboratory practicals and demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including inventory, safety checks, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist with the preparation of laboratory-related documents, such as risk assessments and procedural guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
Job Specification

Working Conditions : This is a full time position  with morning shift from 6:30 am - 1:00 pm and day shift from 10:30 am - 5pm working hours. This position may require occasional evening or weekend work during peak periods or special events.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Physics).
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in an educational environment.
